Post Re: White Men Can't Jump
I guess the Cleveland Can't Jump one got deleted? :hahaha:

I thought the opening scene of this movie was so good. Really did feel like a Spike Lee joint made by the Bull Durham guy. Snipes' trash talking was cracking me up.

Then they kinda just repeat that scene for the rest of the movie. Sure, there's other stuff going on, but they never make the basketball scenes exciting again. The movie probably could have shaved off 20-30 minutes and been better for it. Luckily, Snipes and Woody are able to carry it and keep it entertaining even though it peaked so early.

So I'll give White Men Can't Jump a 7/10 for what it did right, but am a little disappointed it didn't enter my ranks of Best Sports Movies Ever like Bull Durham did.

Until we make it :D

I Like how the poster just says Wesley and Woody. Always liked this film, been a long time since I saw it, so don't remember specifics well but it filled my soft spot for sport films well.
