 Re: Arthur Christmas
I didn't see it either (I was busy), but Aardman is so legit. Someone here should have seen it. Shame on all of you

 Re: Arthur Christmas
I tried a couple of times, but circumstances were against me. I loved their last CG film, Flushed Away...

 Re: Arthur Christmas
I saw it! I really liked it too.
There's this one scene with Santa's family in which they're all playing this Monopoly-esque game, which really resonated with me. You can instantly identify with all of their character traits. Arthur is the most innocent but he's also too excited about certain things. He's the one who shows the game to everyone and suggests they play it. Steve, his brother, is on his phone the whole time, looking over how well the Christmas delivery went, feeling a sense of superiority over his family. Santa, or Malcom, is trying his best to catch up, in the character's earnest but clueless way. Grandsanta has so much to tell, but he's upset that Malcolm and Steve (who ignore him) don't respect him. Mrs. Claus is just trying to keep everyone together for one Christmas. It's just one scene, early in the movie, but not only do you know every member of the family afterwards, you care about them.
Otherwise, it's very imaginative and a lot of fun, like we've come to expect from Aardman. Can't wait to see Pirates! Band of Misfits.
