A technically well made and well acted Norwegian/Swedish thriller that held my attention for the most part, but I still felt like the stakes could have been higher. The situation itself is still pretty terrifying and something I would never want to be in, but for some reason I never felt the tension as much as I was probably supposed to.

I guess when it comes to films like this I much rather prefer the 47 Meters Down films which just appeal to me more, although having man-eating sharks in your movie helps a whole lot.

Normally I'd be interested in this but I hear the dog dies and it's even more upsetting here than usual. If they could just not put dogs in horror/thriller movies again I'd be fine with that. ;) It rarely ends well for them and it's just not fun. Most people don't want to see the dog die in movies.

I'm just sick of the trend of dogs getting killed in horror and suspense movies. It's unpleasant. That doesn't mean animals aren't killed in some of my favorites because I can overlook it and it depends on the situation. Like am I sad to see Cujo die? No. It also depends how. Off screen is fine. But I hate when they put an animal in peril for suspense. Like in The Meg. And I hate when they make the death unnecessarily cruel. So I'm glad to have heard about it before watching this.

This was a good sea thriller but for such short movie it takes way too long to setup and then the scenes within the deep aren't big enough. It does manage to get edge-of-your-seat thriller once it goes to sea but I wasn't a big fan of back-and-forth between sea and surface (sort of beats the purpose and makes the title meaningless). I agree with Dil that 47 Meters Down was a better movie with more tension and sharks helping the proceedings with added thrills.
