Re: The Bounty Hunter
It's not only as bad as it looks, but it somehow manages to be even worse. The only "enjoyment" I got out of this was Christine Baranski. It's just too bad that she's only in the film for about three minutes.

Re: The Bounty Hunter
A distressingly unfunny comedy that wears out its welcome long before the end. Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler have little-to-no chemistry; Butler is unbearably smug (yet still boring) while Aniston is just going through the motions here. The plot is overly complicated and disjointed considering that the only reason people will see this is for the interplay between Aniston and Butler. However, said interplay is poorly written and uninteresting. The actors seem like they just met right before the film started shooting and give no indication they're supposed to be playing a former married couple. This is the second battle of the sexes misfire in a row for director Andy Tennant after Fool's Gold, but at least that one had pretty scenery to make up for the witless displays on screen. D

Re: The Bounty Hunter
Fool's Gold is a great comparison, as I equally did not care what was going on in both movies. I could not believe how much The Bounty Hunter dragged. How did Aniston agree to such a unfunny, convoluted comedy? Very disappointing, especially since Gerard is pretty funny in most of his roles. I just wanted this movie to end. I'm actually surprised it did as well as it did.

Oh ya, most random, awful soundtrack ever.

Re: The Bounty Hunter
The Bounty Hunter ends up being another typical romantic comedy which Gerard Butler needs to pull away from. Himself and Jennifer Anniston have no chemistry at all and the ups and downs they experience throughout the film are so very predictable. The introduction of the suicide story twist adds more stupidity to the film and the film takes too much of a drastic turn from comedy (where there wasn't much laughter in the first place) to a serious crime drama (which also doesn't work). There are a couple of good supporting characters here that don't get enough screen time, such as Siobhan Fallon and Christine Baranski, though it is odd to see the latter in a role like this after her phenomenal first season on The Good Wife. The Bounty Hunter though never reaches its stride and as such is a misfire. *

Nothing great, but I thought it was amusing enough.

I'm New jersey native, whose been to most of the spots and was in the scene at the racetrack, I enjoyed it, but merely because I was on a date. A serviceable Midnight Run knockoff. C+
