Re: Youth in Revolt Definitely not what I was expecting. The story just takes so many random turns and you get the feeling that it's riding on mushrooms. Michael Cera is decent, not his funniest role, but he's at his best when he's his alternative personality. Sadly this doesn't appear as much as you'd like. Zach Galifianikiss' role is very short too. The movie could have used a much better editing job for sure.

Re: Youth in Revolt Youth in Revolt is a wonderful comedy thanks to a witty story and strong performances across the board. Michael Cera plays both of his roles wonderfully. While he can capture the image of Nick wanting to find love and naturally get laid, he also captures the assertive and not backing down alter-ego, Francois Dillinger in a very fun and enjoyable light. Though while Cera shined, the true star is up and coming Portia Doubleday who shows much promise within the film and hopefully can branch out from this and find many more roles. The laughs are consistent and the story very rich that 2010 can start off with a bit of a bang. ***1/2

A horrible movie from start to finish. Overly pretentious and badly acted. I was yawning and rolling my eyes throughout the movie. One of the bigger POS's I've seen from 2009.
