Capitalism: A Love Story
Capitalism: A Love StoryQuote: Capitalism: A Love Story is a 2009 American documentary film directed, written by and starring Michael Moore. The film centers on the financial crisis of 2007–2010 and the recovery stimulus, while putting forward an indictment of the current economic order in the United States and capitalism in general. Topics covered include Wall Street's "casino mentality", for-profit prisons, Goldman Sachs' influence in Washington, D.C., the poverty-level wages of many workers, the large wave of home foreclosures, corporate-owned life insurance, and the consequences of "runaway greed". The film also features a religious component where Moore examines whether or not capitalism is a sin and if Jesus would be a capitalist.
The film was widely released to the public in the United States and Canada on October 2, 2009. It was released on DVD and Blu-ray on March 9, 2010.

Easily Moore's worst. What's the percentage of people that actually pay to see movies like this?? Can't be all that much..

Lately, I've been anticipating this immensely. I can't wait to see it tomorrow, after I see Toy Story.

It's actually really empowering. By this point, we all know where Moore is coming from, but that doesn't take away from what he's saying. It's definitely my favorite movie of his - learned quite many things.
Everyone should check it out for sure. It's very relevant. A

Re: Capitalism: A Love Story
Certainly Michael Moore's most mature film to date, and in due to that regard, it is also his least funny movie... ...not that there ain't a heapin' helpin' of laughs here, but it's just that the damn tragedy portrayed is so freakin' horrific. But the one aspect that makes this Michael Moore's best documentary, is the fact that he doesn't simply point out evil, but he goes on to propose solutions ***. That is the mark of the master. He is not just here to document what's now here, but to sculpt that reality into a better future for all. This is a masterful piece of political education. Some quality propoganda from the good guys for a change! Almost gives ya hope for the future (at least until TEOTWAWKI)...This is a great movie!!! out of ( *** A restoration of FDR's proposed 2nd Bill of Rights - - too bad that coincidental crisis came along and sidetracked everything just like it seems to do every time. But if it's good enough for Germany and Japan, not to mention Scandanavia, Canada, Switzerland, and several other nations which do not wish to be disclosed, then why can't America work towards living up to it's own name: US - - why can't it choose to return to the intentions of it's founders - - why can't it once again lead the world? )

Did your friends dump you when you decided to see this over another movie or what cause a movie titled CAPITALISM doesn't exactly reek of a great time on a friday or saturday night... Yeah, I wanna party with you and go see a movie called CAPITALISM.. Come on Bradley.. Did you really go see this??? Seriously???

I wonder how many people lost friends in the '90s when they paid to see a movie called Schindler's List on a Saturday night. What a draaaag, man.

Yeah that's true I suppose, but 1 movie was simply worth seeing over how artistically well done it was from Spielberg and the other was simply a propaganda movie that FOX News or CNN could've shown on a Sunday afternoon after MEET THE PRESS

Re: Capitalism: A Love Story
Moore can't seem to shake his penchant for childish, foolish street antics, but there's no denying his ability to infuriate. Even if I didn't agree with his central message, I'd still find it difficult to shake the notion that there's something broken with the American economic system. And though he gets too vitriolic at times (I have a hard time believing capitalism is inherently evil), it's hard not to feel angered about the stories he presents. People may claim he's too manipulative, but isn't that what film is all about? Not all documentaries have to be dry, objective fact presentations.
About on par with Sicko for me.
