Re: The Boys: The Sherman Brothers' Story
The Boys: The Sherman Brothers' Story was a surprisingly hard hitting look at one family among most that experience life in a less than fairy tale manner. We
might consider ourselves fortunate to have had one camera or another focused on the "boys" for decades now, but who among us would wish our lives dissected under this microscope? (Well, it appears there would be many, given the cult of reality TV...)
But I digress... this documentary is a revelation of a story that I somehow musta missed on the Biography Channel. It is iconic. It is ironic. It is supercalifragilisticexpialidocic. The seemingly honest accounts/recounts from each of the Bros. is endearing and infuriating - - they are one real family. The accounts/recounts by those that knew them and worked with them are golden! The description of their relationship with Walt Disney, is alone, worth the price of admission! The A-list stars of yesteryear show up in interviews many, many years after the fact, and all share tales of brilliance and hard work.
This is a stellar documentary, which may be misidentified as a simple biopic. It's not.
The Boys is a biting reflection of all who dare to look...
