All About Steve
All About SteveQuote: All About Steve is a 2009 American comedy film, directed by Phil Traill, which stars Sandra Bullock, Thomas Haden Church and Bradley Cooper. It is distributed by 20th Century Fox. The title is a pun on the 1950 film All About Eve, also made by 20th Century Fox.

Re: All About Steve
An absolute failure in tone, story and comedy. If it was told from Steve's point of view this could've been funny, but since it's told from Mary's we just quickly grow to feel sorry for her and that's really only done to make the ending seem sugary sweet. So with every possible comedic bit this film has to offer we're left feeling uncomfortable because of Mary. The film wants us to laugh at her and feel sorry for her. I just felt sorry. This was one depressing experience.
If hell does exist and they show movies, this and Halloween II would be perfect as a double feature.

I'm surprised this is getting such negative comments, I didn't think it looked great or anything but it looked....watchable. The critics loathe it though.

Exactly. If they don't know how to behave, and feel OK offending others, they get their ass kicked, so they'll think next time before opening their rotten mouths.

One thing I forgot to mention. The fact that deaf children fall in a sinkhole and is the basis for the entire third act didn't help matters. If it was funny that would be one thing, but it's actually kind of offensive. Why Bullock would produce this shit is beyond me.

Did this start production before The Proposal?

Sadly I didn't know it had been delayed before seeing it.

Maybe I'm an awful person, but it made me laugh when they were running and all of a sudden fell in the mine shaft . ALL ABOUT STEVE - 5/10 (C-)Not quite as horrible as reviews would suggest, but pretty damn close. It's just lame and not funny.
