The film is a spoof of the popular dance film genre. It was set for release in North America on February 6, 2009, but was moved to August 2009, then to May 22, 2009.

Not as good as Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood, but above average for this sort of thing.

Re: Dance Flick This was the worst movie I've seen in a long, long time - - I mean worse than TDK bad! ...and as some here at KJ may know, I'm a big, big fan of low comedies and parodies, and then dance movies too. However, this was a singularily unfunny production. I mean no laughs (well, okay... I did chuckle at the one tiny scene where the father comes to pick up his son). Horrible.  out of

A few laughs, but mostly painfully unfunny.
I used to love spoof movies, but they haven't made a good one in ages. They are all so cheap and uninspired.
Wayans Bros. should have made WHITE CHICKS 2 already instead of this. At least they're going to be getting around to that finally.
Anyway, this is one of the year's worst.
