 We Are Wizards We Are Wizards Quote: We Are Wizards is a feature length documentary by Josh Koury about the Harry Potter fandom. It features Wizard rock bands Harry and the Potters, Draco and the Malfoys, The Hungarian Horntails, and The Whomping Willow. The film also features Heather Lawver, Melissa Anelli, and Brad Neely. We Are Wizards had its World Premiere at the SXSW film festival in 2008, then traveled to 20 film festivals worldwide. The film opened theatrically in 5 cities on November 14, 2008. The film can be seen on Netflix, Hulu.com, and DVD.

Re: We Are Wizards So there have been a lot films made about fandom.
There's Ringers: The Lord of the Fans, Trekkies and Trekkies II, Star Wait, and now we have something for the nerdiest of nerds, We Are Wizards.
By far the worst of the all the documentaries listed above. It's uneven, has no focus, and doesn't really seem to talk about the nature of Potter fandom. There's an animator, two Potter inspired bands, and a pair of typical female Potter fans (single and overweight) who take on Pottermania as a business enterprise for their own selfish reasons (it is shown that WB will not be easily made a fool of, while JK is just hazy mist).
Maybe with the film franchise thankfully winding down, someone will make a better, more focused film about Potterheads. Until then...
