 Gun Crazy Gun Crazy Quote: Gun Crazy (1950) is a film noir feature film starring Peggy Cummins and John Dall in a story about the crime-spree of a gun-toting husband and wife. The film was directed by Joseph H. Lewis, and produced by Frank King and Maurice King. The screenplay by Dalton Trumbo (credited to Millard Kaufman because of the Hollywood Blacklist), and MacKinlay Kantor was based upon a short story by Kantor published in 1940 in The Saturday Evening Post. Gun Crazy was selected for the National Film Registry, and is also known as Deadly Is the Female.

And it's pretty great. Delicious trash, as a friend of mine called it. Terrifically shot, with the showstopper being an uninterrupted take of a bank robbery in the middle, all shot from the backseat of the getaway car. Also rather subversive and perverse for the Production Code-era from which it was birthed. The girl is basically a gun nympho. It's not high-art, but it's definitely low-art.
Change the title, Nebs!

For some sake of consistency, would prefer to leave this title. I even went ahead and edited Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope into Star Wars.

Re: Deadly Is the Female Yeah, but if, by some miracle, people are looking for this movie, they won't find it! Gun Crazy's the title it's known as nowadays.
