I wasn't big on it either, but it certainly was NOT homophobic. If you think so, I think you kinda missed the point of the movie. This is simply a film about obsessions.
It could have easily been a guy stalking a woman or a woman stalking a woman or whatever.

Well I thought it came off as hateful. It should have been one about a guy stalking a woman or a woman stalking a guy then . Why did they make it about a guy stalking a guy? And I just think that some people who watch it will come away with the wrong idea. And you know that's true.

The movie (and the book, should you ever read it), simply deals with obsessions of all kinds.

I wasn't too impressed with this one either but I agree that it wasn't homophobic at all. Craig actually surprised me with how good he was but Morton was just awful. C-
