This would have been a pretty average terrorist/political thriller had it not been for some great performances. Guy Pearce is really solid here, and Don Cheadle is just terrific.

The movie itself is very entertaining, but straight-forward. Doesn't take a lot of chances, it's pretty predictable. But unlike a film like The Kingdom or Rendition or something like that, it never slows down for a second. It's exciting, suspenseful all the way through, but not like over-the-top either. I really enjoyed it.

Bit predictable but overall a very solid film. Pearce and Cheadle were great.

Wow, what an utterly horrible film. If not for the good (I wouldn't say "great") performances I might have walked out. And I'm sorry, the ending on the bus where
Spoiler: show
they still blow up the bus
...

What the hell?

For those of you looking for something new, you may be betrayed. Traitor is pretty much a mix of everyother movie about terrorists and the U.S Government. It never lacks being entertaining however, which really helped and made me not really mind that it was nothing original.

Samir Horn [ Don Cheadle ] is a U.S Special Operations Officer who is deep undercover. He is pretending to be a terrorist, his goal is to stop an attack on the United States. But because only one man, Carter [ Jeff Daniels ] knows he is working for the U.S, he quickly becomes a target of the FBI. They believe he is a terrorist and the plot continues from there as they hunt down Samir who is working with terrorists throughout the film.

Don Cheadle is fantastic as the lead, he gives a very strong performance. Everyone else did good as well. But Jeff Daniels on the other hand, doesn't even get a chance to act. He's basically never even in the movie. The Direction and Screenplay are good, the score is ok, could have been much better. It surprisingly had a good amount of action, not much, but still more than you might expect.

Is Traitor really worth seeing in theaters? I would say yes, but only because with films like Disaster Movie, Babylon A.D, and College, there's nothing else really to see. In my opinion it's more of a DVD movie, it's just not that good of a film like I had hoped for. The conclusion is so obvious and cliche', you don't even have to see the movie to know what happens at the end. Traitor's for the most part a fun film with great acting, other than that it's nothing special.

I thought that for the most part it was horribly dull and preachy, despite Don Cheadle's solid performance. I really couldn't get engrossed in the story at all, and the way it was constructed felt like a total Bourne Identity ripoff. Definitely disappointing. C

This was great.
Like usual there are naysayers but whatever. We all have different tastes.
And IMO the Bourne series is overrated.

Solid A.
