Gloria is a very engaging, funny, and poignant dramedy. The protagonist is an older woman, who searches for love and companionship as her loneliness threatens to drown her. Paulina García is simply stupendous in the leading role, and she deserves award recognition for this performance, though that's obviously very unlikely. There were a couple of parts that seemed to drag a little, but other than that it is a thoroughly enjoyable film. A-/B+
