Captain Ron is a 1992 American comedy film directed by Thom Eberhardt, produced by David Permut, and written by John Dwyer for Touchstone Pictures. It stars Kurt Russell as the title character, a sailor with a quirky personality and a checkered past, and Martin Short as a middle-class family man who hires him to sail a yacht through the Caribbean with the man and his family aboard. Mary Kay Place, Benjamin Salisbury, and Meadow Sisto also star as the man's wife and children.

apparently, it was a classic back in the day, but I watched it recently and the humor was just way too forced for my liking.

Is it great comedy, no. Is it even memorable comedy, probably not, and thats mostly do to Short. He's great, but never as a leading role. Though Kurt Russell adds another delightful performance to his resume and has a ball as Captain Ron. He's worth watching it and at times him and Short have some good chemistry together. It's a fun little film to catch sometime, especially if your a fan of goodole Kurt.

Solid B
