 A Good Woman
A Good Woman Quote: A Good Woman is a 2004 drama film directed by Mike Barker. The screenplay by Howard Himelstein is based on the 1892 play Lady Windermere's Fan by Oscar Wilde. It is the third screen version of the work, following a 1925 Ernst Lubitsch silent film and Otto Preminger's 1949 adaptation entitled The Fan.

A GOOD WOMAN - 7/10 ( B )
There's not a lot to it and I can see why critics weren't crazy about it, yet I really enjoyed it. Whatever happened to Helen Hunt anyway? Where has she been hiding?

B-
It's a slight, but fairly well-done movie. I think what stands here out most if the acting. Helen Hunt delivers in her scenes and Scarlett Johansson is surprisingly solid (unlike her performance in almost all of her recent films, she's actually not distractingly annoying). Tom Wilkinson delivers a convincing turn as well.
I liked the film's twist and the fact that Johansson's character remained oblivious to the truth by the end of the film. However, considering this is an Oscar Wilde adaptation, this was just way too tame and not nearly sharp enough dialogue-wise as it could have been. There were certainly better Wilde adaptations in the past.
