I just saw this on DVD at the beckoning of my girlfriend. I went in with the lowest expectations possible and actually came out pleasantly surprised by the movie. A few points...
Even though Eric Bana is as my girlfriend puts it "bello", I was not convinced whatsoever by some of his acting in a few key scenes, especially when he turns to Anne when his bastard son is being born from Mary. His emotions there almost seemed like cardboard and could have just said, "Oh by the way, I really want you and not Mary" and it would have been just as effective.
I loved the costumes and wardrobe. I also liked the actress that played Catherine of Aragon.
Not too shabby overall. Portman was able to carry herself, though the latter-half seemed to be a bit rushed. S.J. was decent, though she wasn't given much to elaborate with. And though I knew the historical outcome and even some of the historical inaccuracies that were being portrayed, I found the movie to have enough to grab my attention.
