This one actually looked like it had some potential from the trailers, but it's just another lame and massively dull horror film that brings nothing new to the table. The performances are all terrible, and this is coming from someone who actually doesn't hate Jessica Alba. But in her first headlining role, she is bland and unconvincing from the very start. Alessandro Nivola and especially Parker Posey sleepwalk through their thankless roles - neither one of which is well-developed. And the whole thing feels a bit like a television pilot of some sort, with cheesy narration from Alba bookending the bulk of the story. The direction is alright and there have been worse horror films as of late, but this is just an incredibly bland retread that is definitely not worth seeing. C-

In terms of horror, I thought this was actually reasonably creepy. It got the job done.

But yeah, there's nothing memorable about it and the end is lame.

Scary at times, but that's mostLy because I was feeLing/expecting it to be as creepy as the originaL was. Though it was not faithfuL to the originaL for the most part.

The acting of Jessica ALba was scary as shit too!

B- - wouLd have been a C+/C thanks to the originaL being one of the creepiest horror fiLms I've ever seen.

Too much of Alba going "OMG, I'm seeing things I'm not suppose to see!" Her nude scene though made up for this partially.

If you have a somewhat original premise, then at least you can do is follow it with a somewhat original plot, not a generic crap like - "OMG I see dead people"; "OMG what do I do?"; "OMG I need to save them!".

A very sucky movie. Also Alba looks like the olm (human fish) in this movie which isn't helpful.

THE EYE - 5/10 (C-)

Boooooring. Why are all supernatural movies basically the same dull, repetitive thing? The original "EYE" wasn't anything amazing, but it was good and certainly better than this. Jessica Alba cannot act. Maybe if a better, more interesting actress was in the lead role (like Emily Blunt, for example) it would have been better. Oh well, I suppose it's for the best that better actresses don't waste their time on this crap. The only real saving grace was the sexy Alessandro Nivola.

My rating is close to a 4/10 (D+). The only reason it's not one is because it wasn't quite as horrible as that, though not far from it. I say rent the original instead if you haven't seen it.

It's really not THAT bad, but a lot of things don't work here. Parker Posey is one of them.

now that I think about it, this was a terrible film all around.

the original wasnt all that great and this version was kinda worse.
