Very Good thriller in my opinion. Streep and Bacon were great and the supporting cast was good as well. And the water scenes are pretty well done. B+/A-

Decent thriller. Streep delivers a commendable performance, though it's nothing groundbreaking for her. The cast is actually quite exceptional - with this pedigree, you'd expect a great deal more than what was delivered. The problem lies within a fairly mundane climax, unrealistic and unoriginal. Because it never defies our expectations, it never breaks free from convention, and because (frankly) it gets a bit silly, this film never takes off. It's still decent, well crafted, and especially worthwhile for those interested in female stars in hero roles, as Streep is here. She's commendable. The rest is forgettable.

An odd little film. Odd because it's just there, with no comparisons really. I can't think of a single movie related to this one in anyway, yet it doesn't have a complex story or anything. A solid thriller, and like everyone, 2 people, the cast is great.

 Re: The River Wild
A solid thriller with a great cast that unfortunately goes to hell at the end. It really falls into every pitfall of the genre and ends accordingly. Still, Streep and Bacon, in particular, are great, and it's an interesting idea; too bad it wasn't executed as well.
