A mostly dull affair filled with every cliche in the book. It's also way too preachy and several scenes are painfully unrealistic. It wants to be something important and its heart is in the right place, but the pieces just don't come together in the end. That's probably due to the bland performances from Adam Rothenberg and Ethan Peck, who are not suited for the roles they are playing at all. Mariah Carey actually delivers an alright performance and is the best of the cast. I wasn't a huge fan of the director's use of flashbacks either, for most of them felt random and took away from the film as a whole. I'd probably pass on this one. It's nothing you haven't seen before. C
