 The Mosquito Coast
The Mosquito Coast Quote: The Mosquito Coast is a 1986 American film directed by Peter Weir, based on the novel by Paul Theroux. The film stars Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, and River Phoenix. The film tells the story of a family that leaves the United States and tries to find a happier and simpler life in the jungles of Central America. However, their jungle paradise quickly turns into a nightmare as their stubborn father's behavior becomes increasingly erratic and aggressive. It was shot in the cities Cartersville and Rome in Georgia, in addition to Baltimore, Maryland, and Belize.

 Re: The Mosquito Coast
Yay! 90+ minutes of Ford acting like a batty bastard.
River Phoenix: But Daddy you are clearly a nutjob, and social services should have seen this before allowing you to drag us all to the depths of the Amazonian jungle. Ford: Crazy crazy crazy!! Communists everywhere, and they are in my pants now, must build utopian paradise here............OBEY ME!! River Phoenix: You really didn't plan this well though did you, I mean disease, angry tribesmen to deal with, and don't forget Water that gives you a severe case of the shits! Ford: Crazy crazy crazy!! River Phoenix: Sigh, where is the coke I need to relax.
Me enjoying this film depends entirly on the mood I'm in, normally I need to be in sadistic cruel git mode and then this film gives off positives.
