 Le bonheur [Happiness]
Happiness Quote: Happiness (French: Le bonheur) is a 1965 French drama film directed by Agnès Varda, about a married man having an affair with another woman. The film is associated with the French New Wave and won two awards at the 15th Berlin International Film Festival, including the Jury Grand Prix. The films beautiful colours resulted from the creation of a new colour negative because the original had faded during production.

 Re: Le bonheur [Happiness]
I can see the point that Varda's trying to make, but her ironic tone was completely lost on me, and thus this film really rubbed me the wrong way. Perhaps I just didn't get it, but I would almost call it misogynistic, were it not directed by a woman. There are some beautiful sequences though (the first date between François and Émilie is rich with colour and imagery and symbolism) and the film looks good, but I didn't particularly enjoy watching it. Just did not appeal to me at all.
