
Re: Ma nuit chez Maud [My Night at Maud's]
For such a philosophically deep and dialogue heavy film, it manages to remain at least semi-interesting, even if the endless debate between faith and reason becomes rather tiresome by the end. The way that the discussions the characters have actually become represented in the events of the film is quite ingenious, though. Unfortunately, the protagonist is fairly unlikeable, and so his hypocritical indiscretions are not as endearing as they should be. The final twist is a nice capper to the overall themes, though.
