Post Re: Why Did I Get Married?
Wow this was a entertaining film. Very good performances from most of the cast, but Jill Scott :wub2: stole the show. This is Tyler Perry's best movie to date. We have four couples who all went to college together and reunite every year for a marriage retreat. Janet Jackson's character and her husband are dealeing with the loss of a child, Tyler Perry's character and his wife are dealing with workaholic vs kids issue. Jill Scott's character and her asshat husband are dealing with weight issues. and Michael Jai White and his Biatch wife are dealing with baby mama drama, Cheating, VD, and Career issues. Some of the topics discussed hit close to home. You go in thinking that most of the movie will take place at the lodge but that is just the set up. Most of it deals with the aftermath of a throw down after a dinner gone terribly wrong. You see the set up happening a mile away but the payoff is good. Some of the movie is sappy but if you are Married or in a serious relationship you will pause the movie or have a long discussion after the movie when a lot of the topics come up. I know a lot of KJ'er's dismiss "Black" movies but give this one a watch it certainly is alot better than most mainstream Romantic drama's.

A+
