It's mostly slapstick, but it made me laugh and it's got some fairly innovative camera tricks. Along with Keaton's physical acrobatics, there's an impressive use of editing + cinematography, which adds to the tricks on display. But the story is lacking. I guess since it's only 45 minutes or so, some excuses have to be made, but the narrative is basically only the main character fantasizing about saving the day, while his girlfriend does all the work. Kinda weak. But still, I laughed.

Yeah, the narrative is weak, but this is hardly about narrative!

A great, landmark silent comedy, one I've seen at least 10 times, and perfect evidence to prove that Buster Keaton was a filmmaker working at least 50 years ahead of his time.
