Quote:
Delirious is a 2006 film released directed by Tom DiCillo. It stars Steve Buscemi, Michael Pitt and Alison Lohman.

It is the story of twenty-year old Toby Grace (Michael Pitt) who progresses from a homeless scavenger in New York City to the assistant of a self-absorbed, obsessive-compulsive, familial-complexed paparazzo, Les Galantine (Steve Buscemi), then falls in love with the famous singer K'harma. Les breaks his promise not to take pictures at K'harma's birthday party, which caused Toby to move out of Les's apartment and destroys their friendship.

Post Re: Delirious
This was really, well, good.

Steve Buscemi steals every scene he is in. This is another film that is dominated by his presence, by his ability to make every character he plays authentic (and, in this case, both hilarious and - you guessed it - delirious). Michael Pitt is likewise very strong - actually, every actor hits the right notes in this light satire on celebrity - those who have it, those who want it, those who create it, and those who perpetuate it. The film takes stabs at just about everyone and, as a result, manages to be pretty damn funny. At the right moments, it's touching, too. Mixing comedy with drama, satire with sincerity, Delirious works really well. Compelling characters are created in spite of the fact that they are caricatures in this smart satire. How often does that happen? This film isn't profound. It isn't brilliant and it won't set the world on fire. But it is smart, funny, and worth seeing if you're in the mood for an intelligent comedy.
