 Roger & Me
Roger & Me Quote: Roger & Me is a 1989 American documentary film directed by Michael Moore. Moore portrays the regional negative economic impact of General Motors CEO Roger Smith's summary action of closing several auto plants in Flint, Michigan, costing 30,000 people their jobs at the time (80,000 to date) and economically devastating the city.

 Re: Roger & Me
It's just as sarcastic and angry and powerful as Moore's later works, but it feels quite rough around the edges. Like Moore wasn't quite sure how to make films yet (which is true). Still, his editing techniques are as strong as ever (the ending, cross-cutting between Roger's Christmas speech and the family getting evicted, is pitch-perfect), and his distinctive style of humour remains intact. He does a great job of mixing archive footage and verite-esque moments, as always.
Maybe his weakest film that I've seen, but that's only because of its (relatively) amateurish feel. It's still a pretty good documentary.
