I loved the opera scene, but the film seemed off for some reason. I think it was the fact that there were too many goofy characters (like the bad guy, and the priest, his assistant, bruce willis' mom). Chris Tucker was really good though

Good movie brought down a little by how damned annoying Chris Tucker was.

Very enjoyable movie. Willis is great as always and Jovovich is perfect for her part. The action is awesome too. I really should buy it on DVD. A-

Everything but Tucker is enjoyable.
Amazing how Besson got the money to make this thou.

Re: The Fifth Element
This shit is not good, it's THE SHIT. The visuals are some of the best ever -I've seen that New York sequence at least 20 times! Most fun movie ever and only BttF II comes close. A+

Re: The Fifth Element
It was doing fine until it brought in Chris Tucker; then it becomes completely silly and unbearable

Re: The Fifth Element
Actually, the more I watch it, the less annoying I find Tucker. His ridiculous performance fits right in with the over-the-top quality of the film. It's the only time I've found him bearable.
I really like this.

Had good effects, if someone unrealistic, but very well executed. Willis was great and Millovich was an interesting lead. Of course it fell into the typical Besson plot. Girl, any age, needs help, so someone stronger helps him. After the Professional, La Fem Nakita, it still worked here, Transporter still worked somewhat too. Funny how few mentioned Willis here...as I thought he was great but to the above, it is only true for the first half of the movie, Milla saves the day in the second half.

Re: The Fifth Element
I just watched this for the first time, I've owned the blu-ray for years... I really liked how zany some sequences were (Chris Tucker... lol, a hoot). Some of it is kinda eh but overall enjoyable.

I remember this as one of my first childhood action movies and liked it enough to revisit again.
