It features some beautiful animated scenery, and it makes a difference in this day-and-age to see an animated feature that is this pure and child-friendly. Most are layered to appeal to adults and children with hidden smut and mature themes, but this is solely for children, and that innocence is charming. I liked how they gave Thomas an adventure to different worlds. He goes to Africa, then South America (though for much of it it still looks like Africa), then the USA, then (by way of a montage) Europe, then back home. The Fat Controller comes looking for him donning different hats for each leg of his journey after a camel ate his usual hat when he arrived in Africa.

The dialogue was in Chinese for my viewing (apart from the songs) but that had almost zero effect on my viewing experience. I can understand enough Chinese to not have an issue with understanding it, plus with films like this that are made for toddlers upwards, the visuals are purposely orchestrated to be as understandable as possible.
