 Touching the Void
Touching the Void Quote: Touching the Void is a 2003 documentary film based on the book of the same name by Joe Simpson about Simpson's and Simon Yates' disastrous and near fatal attempt to climb the 6,344 metre (20,813 foot) Siula Grande in the Peruvian Andes in 1985.

Pretty much the greatest survival movie ever. A
This is another film I completley forgot about on my top 100 last month, just slipped my mind... I think it's probably my favorite documentary/docudrama ever.
A lot of reviews regarding the film has said this, but it's amazing how much suspense and on the edge of your seat heart pounding is created in this film even though you already know the end result. Brilliantly directed and edited with the interview and docudrama parts mixed, beautiful cinematography, beautiful score, and it displays a lot of introspect on the human mind capacity and soul.
Simply perfect.

Some of the scenes belong to the most gripping, gut-wrenching and tense I have ever seen. But in between moments of banal, rather boring docudrama occu as well. On the whole, a solid effort, but not a masterpiece.
