Quote:
Are We Done Yet? is a 2007 family comedy film starring Ice Cube. The film is both a remake of the classic Cary Grant comedy Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House (previously re-made as The Money Pit) and a sequel to 2005's comedy Are We There Yet? The film was directed by Steve Carr from a screenplay by Hank Nelken. It was produced by Revolution Studios and RKO Pictures, and distributed by Columbia Pictures. The film was shot on location in Vancouver, Canada, but is set in Newberg, Oregon.

Here's how the film works. Whenever John C. McGinley is on screen, the film works and is at it's funniest. Whenever he is off screen the film falls flat. When the film doesn't focus on his characer, it tries to hard to be like a Chevy Chase National Lampoon's film, which is ironic because he never made a film like this for them. I'm actually kind of surprised they didn't. Hey I got an idea. Since Chase basically isn't working (Do we really count Funny Money?), let's call him up and let's call Lampoon's up and see if they want to revive the franchise? We can call the film, National Lampoon's Vacation: Got Shingles?. Hardy har har har. Well, it's funnier than anything in this film, besides McGinley. He saves the film from being a train wreck, and luckily he's in the film a lot. He's also what makes the film somewhat likeable. That's why I'm giving it a not so horrible grade.

And remember, this is coming from someone who didn't mind Are We There Yet? so much. I actually kind of liked it.
