The Santa Clause
The Santa ClauseQuote: The Santa Clause is a 1994 American fantasy-dramedy film directed by John Pasquin, distributed by Buena Vista Pictures Distribution, Inc. and starring Tim Allen. In the film, Allen plays Scott Calvin, an ordinary man who accidentally causes Santa Claus to fall from his roof on Christmas Eve and get killed. When he and his young son, Charlie, finish the late, legendary St. Nick's trip and deliveries, they go to the North Pole where Scott learns he must become the new Santa and convince those he loves that he is indeed Father Christmas.
The film was followed by two sequels, 2002's The Santa Clause 2 and 2006's The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause.

I enjoyed it, but the second film is much, much better.

Re: The Santa Clause
It's kinda a guilty pleasure/childhood favourite of mine. Tim Allen is great and frequently wittier than the movie he's in, and the Santa-mocking-turned-Santa-embracing shtick the film (and Allen) does works pretty well. Of course, it's a Disney film, so a terrible corny third act is expected, but this one's not so bad. The film spawned terrible sequels, but it's pretty good for a 90s Disney Christmas kid's flick starring a TV actor/comedian.

Re: The Santa Clause
Yeah, man, there's nothing funnier than Tim Allen killing Santa Claus! I love good Christmas movies, but this was pretty noxious, I thought.

Re: The Santa Clause
I agree with trixster - always been a childhood guilty pleasure. To say I don't enjoy watching it as mindless entertainment would be a lie.
