Stand Up Guys
Despite its slow pace and sleep-inducing leads, Stand Up Guys is actually quite a touching and pleasant film about an ex-con coming out of the joint after a 28-year stint to find his best friend has the job of "whacking" him. Walken and Pacino are quite nice to watch as they work, even though they seem bored for most of the film, or perhaps that's just their voices now after a life of booze and drugs. Arkin is pretty great too, and it was a shame to see him die.
They get into some pretty dodgy stuff for a few older guys; they get chased by cops, they visit a brothel three times, they shoot people, rob cars, steal clothes, and break into pharmacys. The ending is well executed and is quite touching.
