No matter how much praise/scorn The Blair Witch Project gets one thing it can never avoid is the fact thats a pretty blatant copy of The Last Broadcast, another sudo-documentary dealing with missing expeditions into a wooded area.

The Last Broadcast has a more professional feel to Blair Witch due to the colour presentation and higher quality of acting, and the emphasis is more on the postmortem of the events in an area of Jersey where an eager group of friends had gone to seek visual proof of the "Jersey Devil"

In terms of freaking a person out this does a far better job then The Blair Witch (at least personally it did) with ominous clues picked at and blurred footage suggesting something pretty violent befalling the woodland expedition. Its mainly set around an investigation into the events with the footage only serving a re-enactment role which I found far more effective then wild dis-jointed snapshots ala Blair Witch.

Unfortunately the last 20 minutes of the movie does descend into some sort of bizarre horror/murder farce and the 4rd wall is almost broken at points but other then that its recommended.

Too bad a lot of people think this was a Blair Witch rip-off...

Anyway, I was genuinely involved as how the docu-film progressed (and how convincing and polishedit was), even until the bizarre and creepy farce (I agree with Gulli) resolution. Thank God for the Independent Film Channel for showing this endlessly in 2004, lol.
