 Sabrina (1954)
Sabrina Quote: Sabrina is a 1954 comedy-romance film directed by Billy Wilder, adapted for the screen by Wilder, Samuel A. Taylor, and Ernest Lehman from Taylor's play Sabrina Fair (in the UK, the movie has the title Sabrina Fair). It stars Humphrey Bogart, Audrey Hepburn, and William Holden.
In 2002, Sabrina was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."

Sabrina is the second major film for Audrey Hepburn and it's also the second film with her I've seen so far and I must say that I'm very impressed. She was just a stunning actress and that doesn't go for her looks only. In Sabrina, once again, she's charming, witty and simply enchanting in every single of her scenes. Just like in Roman Holiday she once again fully deserved her Oscar nom (I know she won for Holiday). The cast around her ain't shabby either with Bogart, Holden and Williams delivering the goods. I'd say that Hepburn outshined them all, though.
If there's a problem for me to point out with this film, then it'd be that the chemistry between Bogart and Hepburn just wasn't too strong, at least not for a story like this and somehow it didn't feel right to see the 25-year old Hepburn falling for the 55-year old Bogart.
Other than that, it's a charming effort by Wilder (another director I need to catch up on since I've only see this, Sunset Blvd. and Some Like It Hot a long time ago). There are several well-placed laughs. The writing is sharp and the characters well-developed. I just didn't like that the ending seemed so rushed afterall. Overall, it's a funny romance with a great female lead.
