Jacki Weaver gives a great performance but the screenplay and execution traps this into clichés making the story neither fully heartfelt nor providing any message/statement about gay community issues. The only good thing is the conversion of Weaver's character which was great to explore but after this happens in the first half there is nothing left to explore in the second half. The club thing was decent but unearned in the end.
