Post The Good Liar

The Good Liar is a 2019 American crime thriller film directed and produced by Bill Condon and written by Jeffrey Hatcher, based on the novel of the same name by Nicholas Searle. It stars Ian McKellen as a career con-artist who meets a wealthy widow (Helen Mirren) online, and begins to plan how to steal her fortune.

You're incredibly overrated and and if they made a Pixar film about you it would gross less than The Good Dinosaur.

This should've been released in the 90s. Performances are good, character study is okay(ish), exposition is ridiculous, twist ending is ridiculous, soundtrack is pretty good though; more atmospheric than Hollywood's been producing recently.

The Berlin scene. At the end, the guy playing her grandson mentioned screwing up Berlin - the way Roy was ambushed there coupled with the grandson's dialogue tells us it was the first attempt at cornering Roy - but because the script didn't want us aware Betty was doing a double-con, nothing about the two attempts share any resemblance: the misdirection of the script contradicts the eventual characters. The real Betty revealed to us in the end - Lilly - would've never attempted the confrontation so feebly. It's a stupid movie.
