This is one of Jean Reno's most recent The Crimson Rivers-type of films. Sadly, it doesn't come close quality-wise. The story encompasses more than I could and want to describe here, but lemme tell you that it involves a corrupt cop, government experiments, an insane wannabe-artist, Turkish terrrorists, dark rituals, memory loss, drug dealing etc. It tries too much for its own good. The first 90 minutes actually "build up" to something really good, but in the last half hour the movie just falls apart like that. Before that, it is a fairly atmospheric thriller that keep you guessing most of the time, but at a certain point all hell breaks loose twists-wise and we get served a new twist and turn each five minutes to the point that in the final five minutes it becomes flat out ridiculous. Too bad, as the beginning was very promising and Jean Reno, while sleepwalking through the role, is still as good as ever.
