Don Roos succesfully juggles different plots and themes in this solid dramedy. The performances from the cast are excellent. Lisa Kudrow especially shines as a woman who is forced to face her decision of giving her child for adoption when she was a teenager. Maggie Gyllenhaal also gives a great performance as a gold-digger and she also displays a lovely singing voice in the movie as well. My only problem with the film was that it dragged a bit during the first half of the movie. B
