Quite intriguing and dark, but I can't help think that it wasted some of its potential. Some of the scenes are so freaky, so innovative, and so damn cool, that it's a shame the entire movie (or at least more of it) couldn't be like that. I was also able to guess the ending (probably given that I had just watched Stay) but they ruined the execution, I think. Very corny ending for such a cool film. I also would have liked to see more subtle hints during the course of the movie, and maybe more angels & demons stuff. Still, quite involving and disturbing.

Very disturbing movie and I like the pyschodelic use of images, The Cell and Requim for the a Dream were able to pull it off. Even if you dont like the movie, its a good exploration to watch for the art student. Other than that its very unsettling and it should have done better in the BO
Very underated

I just watched it again and my opinion of it shot up. It's very, very haunting, not just in the scary scenes but everywhere else. The hospital sequence is probably in my top five scary scenes ever.

Ditto, I wouldn't be suprised if I had nightmares about it tonight.
Great twist as well.

Re: Jacob's Ladder
Disturbing and interesting, yet slightly underwhelming. I felt that there could have been more to it and the ending could have been less predictable (granted, in 1990, I'm sure this ending would have been quite shocking, but in 2007, it's become predictable thanks to many films that probably copied it). Tim Robbins gives one of the best performances of his career in this film, while the rest of the cast is just solid. Still, I'm pretty glad I watched it. It's one of the more creepier films I've witnessed. B+
