I put off watching Aeon Flux for weeks because I was sure it was going to be a giant turd after reading everything here (and elsewhere). However, I must say that it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It was FAR from great, but not the giant pile of crap that I was suspecting.

AF had a decent sense of style, and I was mildly entertained throughout the flick. It does have it's problems, though. At the top of the list is that this movie had no sense of fun to it. I find that comic book type flicks tend to work better when there is a little fun to it. This movie took itself way too seriously and everybody talked far too monotone, which lulled me to sleep a little. And lastly, there were giant plot holes... like how easily the rebels could hide at times, even though supposedly everybody was being watched at all times.

Anyhow, I give it props for its sense of style and the few scenes with some stylistic action that at least were mildly entertaining to watch.

I'm awfully pale to be a turd, and I only have a couple nuts on me. Howeber, I hear that you always have nuts all over you and are slightly less pale than me... hmmm... who is the turd now???? huh?

By the way, are you Bob? I've been awaiting the answer to this question for a week now.

Seriously, the film is very flawed, but not even half as bad as some people made it out to be.

This is a real quality movie in terms of its melting pot world full of luscious set design, unique art production style, and creative location scouting. Oh, and Charlize Theron looks really, really hot. Acting was very decent from Sophie Okonedo, Pete Postlethwaite, and Francis McDormand. Too bad the action sequences weren't very exciting, and the pacing could've been improved, but this movie is still delightful enough to get a low B from me.

It's an awful movie, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't have fun in a guilty pleasure kind of way.

I still liked it, even after the second viewing.

I think this movie is ripe for cult status in a few years.

Oh, in terms of filmmaking, it's not that terrible, but it nearly put me to sleep. Staying awake during any manner of films is a talent of mine; it's a mortal sin to make me almost doze off.

Actually, I thought the contrary. It is not very good in terms of filmmaking or storytelling, but I thought it was a lot of fun.

Really? I found the plot to be surprisingly coherent, which is rare for a movie of its kind. As for fun, watching the news was more fun. :p

Maybe you were too tired to notice the incoherences? :D

Oh, I noticed them. Just that they aren't that bad compared to most movies in its genre.

Eh. Not as bad as most people would like everyone to believe.

But still pretty bad.

Agree with anyone who has said it's not as bad as it's made out to be.

hehe I still get a kick out of watching it as well.

Any movie that has Pete Posteltwaite walking around in a giant kebab can't be all that bad can it....
