Very dull but competently made. None of the performances were nearly as good as people make them out to be. C

Re: In Her Shoes
OK, now that it is 2009 and there is only one more year left in this decade, I am of the opinion that In Her Shoes is easily the most underrated movie of the 2000s. Discuss.
Even yoshue loved this! yoshue!

Re: In Her Shoes
yoshue is awesome
The movie's quite good, although Curtis Hanson's on my shit-list at the moment. I stood up for him, and, in return, I desperately need him to explain Lucky You. What the fuck, man?

Re: In Her Shoes
Yeah, I liked this far more than I expected. It was a pretty great story considering that it seemed kind of empty in the trailer.

Re: In Her Shoes
This movie is just so lovely.
I watched it for the first time in years just a little bit with my boyfriend who has never seen it and I just don't get why it isn't remembered in the same way something like Steel Magnolias it. Just a great film all around. Feel good, wonderful acting, incredibly heartfelt.

Re: In Her Shoes
So it took me a while to finally watch this but it was worth the wait. What a pleasant surprise. All give great performances, especially Shirley McLaine. I expected many of the typical Hollywood plot twists to take effect but they never showed up. Of course Diaz would end up becoming a better person (and better reader) by reading to an old blind man, but it comes across as heartwarming rather than disingenuous.
Another surprise which was welcome for the most part is the 130 minute running time. Curtis Hanson crafts a beautifully-told story in over two hours. Could a few minutes be shaved off? Probably. But it takes its time to tell the story and I appreciate that.
Not a whole lot else to say. A nice unexpected treat.
