Michael Crichton is pretty much my favorite author and the adaptation of Jurassic Park is my #1 movie of all time. Considering the fact that this movie is an adaptation of his novel (one of the few I have never read) and that he directed it himself it was a no-brainer for me to see it when it aired.

Overall, I was really pleased with what I have seen. It is a heist movie, not unlike Ocean's Eleven and The Italian Job, only a tad better I thought. Connery oozes undeniable charm in his role, but he is a very menacing anti-hero at the same time. He coldly kills a traitor, something that the "noble" thieves in modern films usually don't do. Sutherland is quite good in his role as well. Only these two roles are worth mentioning. I enjoyed the movie the most in its first half, when the couple tried to steal the four keys for the gold safe. The scene at the train station with Sutherland trying to copy the key while there are 2-3 policemen in the same room and Connery knocks them out without them noticing anything is exhilarating and the best in the entire movie.

The flick goes a bit downhill in the second part when it seems rushed and everything appears to be too easy. The very ending was fun, even though quite unrealistic and rushed as well. Overall, one of the better caper flicks.

I wonder if anyone else here has seen this movie. Maverikk, maybe?

Yes, I missed this thread, but as a big Connery fan, of course I've seen it. It's a very entertaining and suspenseful caper flick, with very engaging performances by Connery and Sutherland, and a hot looking Leslie Ann Down. Connery's Bond training definitely serves him well in this.
