 Re: His House
Genuinely terrifying and hypnotic till the final act, the movie explores a couple's struggle with loss of their child. The scares are innovative and every scene brings a punch with many visual surprises in each screen. The direction and acting from the two leads is great. It only falters in the very final act in order to wrap things haphazardly but its still a worthy end.

 Re: His House
I didn't love this as much as Sparrow mostly because I wanted a bit more out of the finale, but man this is a pretty great little horror film overall. I'm glad I went into this not seeing any marketing in advance, because I had no idea what to expect going in and it definitely took me by surprise in that regard. Really fantastic, hypnotic and engaging performances from our two leads and the dramatic elements with the daughter are so beautifully done and tragic.
I really enjoyed the fact that you got to see both supernatural horror elements and real life horror elements in this movie which were equally effective on both ends. I never found it out right scary, but I loved the way this director used visuals in certain scenes which was quite creative and innovative IMO.
