Awful pretty much on every level. It's horribly acted, there is no mood, the story is awful, the twist is very apparent about 15 minutes in. It sucked.

What a waste of a movie. I can't even grade it as a massive failure like V for Vendetta, because I feel it doesn't even deserve that recognition, it's just a completley unremarkable and waste of a movie. The plotpoints everywhere are stupid and make no sense, it fails to create any scares, and it's just overall a bore and incredibly lame. It's just so forgettable, blah, I don't feel like giving this anymore of a review. Awful.

what a mess!
It gets the 5/10 because it has extremely nice visuals and the first sirene attack is very well done......but I just didnt found it scary at any point of the movie. Its been a while since I played a silence hill titel and I cant actually remember that much. but the game was way more fascinating that the movie here.....it was just blehh

Really cool to look at, but without much of anything else. The direction and visuals are quite impressive, they really build up the atmosphere quite well, but the acting is hopelessly mediocre and the story is beyond disappointing. Why does every horror movie have to have a wacky religious cult acting as the villains? Also, I was completely confused by the whole "good Alissa/bad Alissa" dynamic - they really didn't explain that nearly well enough. Too bad, as it was quite disappointing that such a pretty looking film was ruined by a pretty terrible screenplay. Just like most horror flicks.
