Worst of the Austin powers films. The brilliant opening is almost unmatchable though. However, enough jokes still work to make this holy film one of the funniest of the year. Making them related was the worst idea in a while.

I just hope they dont make Dr. Evil and Austin Powers allies in the next. That would kill it for me. I say they try and say it was a big ruse by Dr. Evil, or they finally just take him off (Hes my favorite Character, but they totally ruined his character) They should finish it off in the opening sequence, then introduce a new villain.
Like lets say Dr. Evil and Mini me, are both killed in the first minutes of the film. Not necessarily by Scott Evil. Then Austin is on a new mission.

Dr. Evil is just about the best part of the series though, would they dare take him out?

Now that I look back on it...
I would say A-, but I'll give it a C.
This doesn't hold up well over time.

The character of GOLDMEMBER himself was barely in the movie, like less than 2 Minutes if I recall.. However, the opening scene with Spielberg and Cruise was priceless.. Hopefully this will be the last one though.. I'd give it a "C"..

They need to make him evil again otherwise its pointless, his character is not funny at all if he's good. Would he change his name to Dr. Good or Dr. Powers. I say, Meyers try a new angle, or just retire the series.
And yes this film does not hold up well, I'd still give it a Solid B though, but the other two are just too brilliant for me.

 Re: Austin Powers in Goldmember
I loved this the most of the series as well even though its close between this and the original. The jokes this time are the most funniest of the series but the story flow is better in the original. Goldmember is a great addition to the series and of course Dr. Evil continues to deliver well for this movie. "Release the Globe" and "Release the Meteor" were the best scenes for me.
