I got the impression that they couldn't have realistically shown any fights with the wolves because of a lack of CGI expertise or budget. Hence why through most of the film the wolves are relegated to sounds in the background and distant eyes in the dark. It was kind of a cop-out and not a stylistic choice, in my opinion.

They don't have to show the fight, just blurs like the rest of the movie... and then death.

I don't care though. It was good. The ending was average.

Yeah, I suppose they could have done that. It would have at least supported their ad campaign.
