What a strange statement to make about a man who, since 1990, has starred in crap like:

Something's Gotta Give
Anger Management
The Pledge
The Evening Star
Blood and Wine
Wolf
Man Trouble
The Two Jakes

Oh, and also Mars Attacks. Almost forgot about that one.

Good observation. In fact he really didn't make a great movie between A Few Good Men and The Departed -- though he can still be fun to watch even in bad ones (eg: About Schmidt)...

A movie that tries wayyy too hard to be to be unique and cult appealing, and ends up falling on its face completley. Camp isn't funny when its intentional, it's just sad. Painful.

Loved it. Burton is really one of my all-time favorite directors, maybe in the Top 5. It's an excellent parody/homage to alien invasion fims of the 50s and such. Hilarious and inventive! An excellent cast to boot too, even though some members of it are underused.
