Shia LeBeouf's Dad wrote: Awful, awful remake. Takes everything that was great about the original and fucks it up the arse.
I knew I'd hate it from the opening gratuitous shot of an inordinately large bug splattering against their windshield while a Rascal Flatts-alike song played over the top. Took the terrific original and turned it into a stylish, vacant, OC slasher flick.
Yay!! Perhaps our agreement on this film will make up for our 28 Weeks Later chasm.

Tell me, does a truck really fall from the sky at one point in this movie?

I've never seen the original. I'm guessing it's better, but I'm not in a rush after watching this. This was just flat out dumb. Miracouously, up to a certain point you care about the characters. Then they just make stupid mistake after stupid mistake, that you kind of want them to end up dead.
As a matter of fact, in the final showdown, I was hoping Bush's character would run out of bullets since the first place she shot Ryder was in the bulletproof vest. Way to go! As a matter of fact, that whole finale was stupid. Like Zing and Mat, one has to wonder how she survived while in the truck as it was completely engulfed in flames I know she ducked down, but where did she hide, as the bottom lit up as well? I would've loved it if she had run out of bullets, and Ryder shot her in the head after all that. It would've been hilarious, and a surprising way to end the movie. Instead we get......
"How does it feel?"
"I don't feel anything."
Clever.

It actually falls from the top of a cliff.
