If the stereotypes were satiric or served any other thematic point, that would be one thing. But the movie wallows in them because the filmmakers think the only way to make homosexuality palatable for the mainstream audience is to turn them into comfortable, familiar clowns. And they're right. But that doesn't make it cool.
